“For the Love
of Rita” 5K
Run/Walk,
which
celebrates the
life of Mrs.
Rita Ann
Harmon Jacobs.
Rita was a
life-long
resident of
Wilmington.
She worked
throughout her
career for the
Delaware
Division of
Social
Services.
While the
years of her
life were
short due to a
rare form of
cancer (mesenchymal
chondrosarcoma),
her influence
extended
throughout the
Wilmington
community. The
Pearls of Hope
Foundation
would like to
celebrate
Rita’s life by
encouraging
others to take
charge of
their health
through
physical
fitness. The
proceeds from
this event
will fund the
Rita Ann
Harmon Jacobs
Scholarship
Fund, which
will award
annual
scholarships
to local
deserving high
school
seniors.

walk. At the half way point (one
mile) you will be required to eat a pizza
(size depending on category you enter) and
then run back to the finish line.

eating participant limit! You may join
the fun in the spectator division.

Route heads down Creek Road to white Clay Creek State Park. Wheel measured by
Chip Bixler. Great Warm-up race for Philly or Seashore Marathon. Course map
