11/1/08 (Saturday) -6th Annual Great Pumpkin 5k Run \ Walk- Bear, DE   

         sign up in person till Thursday, Oct. 29th  by noon at Delaware Running Co., Greenville Crossing One  (cash or check)   

NOTICE:  NO BABY STROLLERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN PORTION OF THIS EVENT.    YOU MAY WALK WITH STROLLERS. 
 

Race Time:    3:30 pm  (registration opens at 2:00 pm)  One mile fun run starts at 3:00 pm
Location:       Area 1 at Lums  Pond State Park.                                                                                                         Directions
Benefits:        The Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign
Course:         Wheel measured out and back on state park roads.                     
Amenities:     Long sleeve tee shirts and post race refreshments.  Short sleeve tee for fun run.                            
Awards:         Trophies to top 3 overall male and female winners plus awards to top 2 in 5 year age groups 12 under to 60+  
1 Mile Fun Run Awards: Trophies will be given to the top 3 overall male and female runners.  Awards will go to the top two male and      female runners in the following categories:  6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
                      Awards to top 3 male and female walkers.               
Entry Fee:      $16 pre till Oct. 29th   $20 after and day of event.  $7 for one mile run    $10 day of event  
Group Rates: $12 for ten participants or more.     $6 group rate for one mile

Benefits:        Delaware National Guard and Reserve Foundation, a 501C3 non profit organization whose purpose is to
                        provide financial assistance to Soldiers and families of soldiers who may be experiencing hardships. 
                        Also....Stockings for Soldiers will  be on hand...please support this organization.

Course:          NEW 5k route measured by Chip Bixler  starting behind Trolley Square with loop around the Brandywine.  Course map

                         Please note that the Contompasis  5k walk is NON- COMPETITIVE starting also at 10:30 am.
